Sunday 21st May – walk **** River Orwell, Levington – sunny periods
After yesterday’s epic 60 km windsurf it was nice to wake to light winds
and sunshine as my back is playing up:( Mag made some puff pastries –
walnut with maple syrup which were yummy and we made a flask and headed to
Levington Marina. We parked right by the river for breakfast and watch the
boat action before setting on a nice walk up river to Levington Creek. With
the tide dropping the lovely mud and vibrant green wed was exposed with a
few birds out feeding but not many :( Just the odd Egret, Shell Duck,
Lapwings, Swans and waders. There were a few dog walkers and families out
enjoying the sunshine and when we reached the lovely creek w spotted 10/11
deer in the field with the big tree, we haven’t seen them there for a
while. Around the creek and back on the river we returned along the reed
path towards Levington Church and back to the van, a very pleasant hgour or
two. Then back to Felixstowe to check the wind at The Dip which was still
light so headed home for homemade soup.
Sadly there has been a few Minke whales washed up on the beach at
Felixstowe but we didn’t want to see them as it very sad:(
